Allwinner H3
We mentioned Zidoo and their X9 on our recent MiniPCDB Spotlight as being one of the top 5 Chinese TV box/Mini PC manufacturers in terms of hardware and after-sales software support.
The next product from Zidoo will be based on the low-cost Allwinner H3 SoC, with it's quad core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU and Mali-400 @600MHz GPU.
While you won't get the best performance in latest games, the Alwinner H3 does promise to decode H.265 and H.264 up to 4K@30 fps.
The Allwinner H3 SoC was announced last year and it will be a direct competitor for Realtek RTD1195.
The Zidoo X1 device will have BT4.0, 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB of Nand storage (extendable with up to 32GB via SD card) and has 1 HDMI 1.4 output, 2 USB 2.0 ports, ethernet (10/100) LAN and optical output.
Out of the box it will come with Android 4.4 and if Zidoo will follow the same path as with the Zidoo X9 it should receive constant firmware updates, which will make it stand out even more from the crowd, as we expect more and more Allwinner H3 devices to be announced soon.
